Did my first successful IV drip yesterday. Pretty cool and I'm sorry for causing so much pain to my buddies arms. I got poked twice this week. So far my arms have all been 100% successful in getting an IV, my veins are just really clear and straight.

So medic course has been fine. Already used to being there, but staying in is the part which really sucks. They should seriously just make it stay-out since we got so much free time at night. We usually have more than 5 hours of free time before it's lights out... After lunch we have a one and a half hour afternoon nap time and at night it's mostly endless games of chinese chess, monopoly deal, UNO etc and we order in maccas when we're hungry! So that's my life now, sad isn't it... haha

Went shopping at DFS today. If you've seen me in an oversized ralph lauren polo tee, fyi it was probably the adult size s. I now buy the kids size XL hahaha. It's awesome cos it fits perfectly and is way cheaper. Was looking for a new wallet, couldn't find a nice one though and they all cost quite a bit. So just bought some new clothes etc etc. Retail therapy rocks :) have to stay-in tomorrow, so I shop to make myself feel better haha!

Being in HQMC the past ~6weeks has been... Interesting to say the least. The people I've been with are full of shit, in a good way. It's always a strange feeling to leave something you've been accustomed to and move on to something totally new, but marcus, suck it up. I'm going crazy, I'm talking to myself... The plan now is to just enjoy myself in medic course and then after ~2months enjoy my stay-out, 8-5 job. But for now, I have my bags packed and I'm all ready to stay-in.

I just feel so so so weird.

So all of a sudden I am pulled back into church to play drums. Last week Ben asked me to play for youth service and just this morning Terrence dropped me a text asking me to play drums for tomorrow.

It was as if I was in sec 3 or sec 4 again where I played for church almost every single week. It certainly was the same feeling when I was asked to play. So during practice today I thought back to when was the last time I played for church. I realised it was in 2008, sometime in aug or sept. I have not served God for 16 months. I realised how much I have changed.

I used to focus on God during my playing. Now it's all about timing, precision, volume. I realised during practice that God was not on my mind at all while I was playing. I treated it like a performance. It hit me hard. You may think it's no big deal. But to me it is. Inside, it feels like I'm no longer true to God.

This is not about how good my drumming is, but whether I'm even worshipping God. If my relationship with God isn't a good one, how can I even serve Him.

I don't know where to go from this. I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. I'll probably stop playing till I'm sure about myself again.

Tonight was a really memorable night. Went out with my NS friends. Zi Jie, Si Han, Gabriel, Somerton and Hubert. Planning for this outing was a real headache. From a pizza parlour we changed to teppanyaki. Then we changed again to marche. There were endless discussions.

The Marche at 313 is really small compared to the one at vivocity. Was an ok dinner. Highlight of the night was when we went to Cineleisure. Went down to B1 as we wanted to check out movie timings. Unfortunately most were sold out. However, as we stood there discussing our next move, a tranny appeared. We decided to make a move and Hubert's biggest mistake of 2010 was to walk right by the tranny. It smacked his ass and it said "I like fat boys". Even when we went up the escalator the it was still staring at Hubert. Zi Jie "The bapo still staring at you!". We made quite a scene and laughed like hell. Needless to say, the other five of us went on about that the rest of the night. Never laughed so much in such a long time. Poor Hubert (YEA right! hahahahahahahaha). Thanks for providing us entertainment for the rest of the night tranny and Hubert.

So I should be blogging this last night, but oh well.

25 March post:

Today is free cone day at Ben and Jerrys's! A few of us went to the

zoo for lunch as that was the nearest B&J outlet. Ate at KFC then went to queue up for B&J. Thank God the queue wasn't that long. We were all wearing our SAF uniforms so we were watching out for anyone pointing a camera in our direction, just incase we get STOMPED... Just imagine "SAF personnel are supposed to be defending our country or queuing up for ice cream?" We would get so screwed. So anyway tried the new flavour, it's nice :)

So after book out went to united square to meet Ivan and Lennon, bumped into David on the way there. Wanted to get another scoop of ice cream at B&J at united square. BUT, when I got there at about 6.40 the queue was already closed! Shit.... I was disappointed, Ivan was pissed, Lennon was just hungry, David I don't know how he felt... So we went to bakerzin for dinner, we just talked crap the whole time, really funny. David left for home the rest of us went to lido. We watched The Lovely Bones. I think it's a really really good show. Although the actresses aren't really pretty... But it was quite a touching show I guess.

I am now attached to ops for 6 weeks cos the medic course does not start till the 19th of April. So did nothing at all today haha. Just sat down and waited for a new posting which only arrived after lunch. Waited for like 6+ hours. What a great start to a new posting isn't it haha.

After that learnt all there was to learn about what I'm supposed to do. Apparently it is all clerical work. Going to be sitting down in an aircon room until I go for the course. It's quite relax I think haha.

Life is quite okay now I guess. Enjoying myself. Imagining my next two years without the stress of any exams/tests/assignments. Can't really comprehend it properly! I'm probably going to sign up for some part time courses to get a diploma or something. Mummy says I should not just let my brain go stagnant.

One thing I'm really looking forward to is getting my driving license. JUNE13!! About 4 months left. Then I can DRIVE! I want a car... I better start saving money LOL

Going to meet Jon Poh tomorrow. And probably will meet other poor trinity souls who are waiting to get into NS later in the week. Can't wait! :)

It is great to go out and spend time with friends and family. And it is also great to stay at home and just relax. I appreciate all the free time that I have on the weekends due to the little time I have as compared to my weekdays. It is good to not have to rush. Not having to constantly look at my watch. Not having to count the minutes till the next timing.

Having a totally free day is so underrated.

At this point in time, the next two years just doesn't look good. My feeling now is that I am going to just be trying my best to get over these two years with as few problems as possible. Then I shall get out of this little island as quick as I can.

January is almost gone. Can you believe a month has already passed since the new year?

Best thing about January 2010: I have begun my two year journey out of Singapore.

January is almost over. So here is a January post.

I am now bald. I am in NS. I take a ferry to Pulau Tekong every week and shall do so until the 19th of Feb.

Life is weird now. Still getting used to the "not going to study for two years" thing. I don't want to be left here while so many other friends go on to uni... Sucks! Wait up people. I'll be there in 2012.

Weekends are now so precious. It feels great to be in civilization. Pulau Tekong feels like another world.

Quite tired now. Going to read a book. And then sleep :)

What am I doing... What have I been doing. When I saw my results, I felt so worried for myself. I probably half expected it though. I did not realise I was playing with my future. That could have decided what I did for the rest of my life. If it had just been abit worse, I would have really screwed up big time.

People in my position, not being able to get their first choice, may choose to curse and to question God. We are always told to give thanks to God no matter what happens. I never really got that feeling before, to give thanks even though something bad has happened. This would really be a test of our faith.

Now that I am sort of packing to go back to singapore. I have started reading all the storybooks that I have brought over since the start of the year. Every time I go back to singapore, I bring back like 3 storybooks, so now I have about 9 storybooks? Finished a few last week, am now on the last book. Haha I love thriller and mystery stories!! I love reading, sad that I have not read many storybooks this year. But I am glad that my reading speed is more or less the same. I would hate it if I suddenly slowed down... Sooo, right not I like jeffrey archer, james rollin and andy mcdermott. I do not like dan brown anymore, I felt that his latest book was really boring and tedious to read.

I wonder how good authors are able to make their readers get so into their stories. Is it just some really good well-chosen words that describe the scene and what is happening, or is it having a good plot, a great storyline for the reader to delve into. It is probably a combination of both right? Plus our ability to imagine stuff. I think our imagination makes all the difference. Reading a scientific journal is in no way, in my opinion, same as reading a book like "Twilight". I could fall asleep easily, reading boring stuff like journals, while I could hardly ever fall asleep without at least completing the chapter of the storybook I am on. We probably have more to imagine when we read stories as compared to when we just read facts or reports of other people's experiments etc. So does having a good imagination mean we can get more from a storybook? I don't think so. Like I said before, the combination of good words and a great plot make up for all our lack of imagination. I am not a very creative person, so actually, my imagination kinda sucks. But when I read, I can still imagine stuff, this I would say is the skill of the author.

It is so often that we watch a movie that is based on a book and after we have watched the movie, most of the time we say, "The book was better." The stuff we make up in our minds are probably how we want the story to look like. This I would say, is undoubtedly different from person to person. Just like how no two people have the same fingerprint, I am sure you would agree that the imagination of any two people would never be absolutely identical. Hence, what we make up in our mind will never be the same as what we see on screen. So how do we make a comparison as to which is better? Well, too bad, I don't think we can. The movie was probably based on the imagination of many other people, the director, the script writer, the actors who read the script etc. In our mind, everything goes the way we want it to be, we set the standard. The movie then hardly ever lives up to the book as everything gets all muddled up by all the different ideas.

I just misplaced my storybook! Shit, gotto find it.

Went to brighton beach today. Been going to many places like everyday. Mostly with family. Mummy, daddy are here so we've been driving to like dandenong and yarra valley etc. Weather today wasn't bad, caught abit of sun. We took alot of pictures! It's so fun. We had 2 film cameras and kj's dslr. Still sad that I lost my s90 though...

Can't wait to go back singapore now! I want to eat good food and get fat :). Things I am not looking forward to: having no maid for ONE WHOLE WEEK, cutting my hair for NS next year, the rain in singapore. That's all I can think of at the moment.

My room is still in mess. Only got round to packing all the academic stuff away.

So this is the end of my academic year. School ends officially next week at valedictory. Going to miss melbourne so much :(. Once I leave on 8 Dec I would not be coming back for two years. How I wish I could just stay here. Psych exam today was not that bad, people were saying it was harder than the old one. I did not find this one hard... If only I studied for the first exam, my psych mark could have been 90+%...

Strangely, even though I do not have to study for the next two years, I do not feel very liberated. What is wrong with me? I should be like over the moon.

Now the next big task is moving back to Singapore. Like literally moving all my things in melbourne back to Singapore. This is going to be hell. I look around my room and wish my maid was here. Half eaten chocolate next to my com, messy bed on my left, broken pencil on my table, pile of clothes on top of my drawer... The list goes on.

Wish I had a teleport machine and I could just teleport everything back. I wonder if a teleport machine would ever be invented. It would be so fun, if someone was late for a meeting I could just teleport to their house and rush them. Or I could teleport home in the middle of lecture to take a nap. The possibilities are endless.

And I lost my fricking camera and iPod. Not sure if it dropped out of my bag or someone stole it in the library. Haha, that is what I get for working hard and going to the library to study. HAS ANYONE SEEN A BLACK CAMERA AND IPOD????!!! IT'S MINE!

My exam schedule is super tiring, had 4 papers in a row last week, had chemistry yesterday and going to have Maths2 and Psych on Thursday and Friday... After every paper I just come home and sleep for like four hours. Always feel so drained. Well official end of trinity is in just over a week! I hope I don't screw up my final exams. I've been so lazy. Doing everything besides studying. Got lots of work to catch up on, got to work like crazy. Can't believe trinity is ending so fast, in exactly a months time actually. Worst part is I'm going back for NS. Going to miss melbourne and all my friends. Wish I could just skip NS since I know I'm not going to be doing anything worthwhile due to my pes status.

So the trinity prom was last Friday. It was not really good I guess. The food was really bad haha, I think most of my table didn't touch the food at all. People were saying it was like airplane food. Worst part I think was the prom king. I just wonder who was the judge. Ah well, it'll be an unbelievable story to tell. Although to me it wasn't such a great night, I'm sure we'll all look back on this next time as it is the last time the whole trinity batch is gathered together (not counting when we gather for our exams). Our time is priceless. AND I can't seem to upload pictures here, so head over to facebook for the pictures. Didn't take much though :( I got my new camera!! It's a canon s90. Love it.

Stayed in the city today, went to a korean place for dinner with jiejie, kj, shuanne, shuhuei, shuanne's friend, kj's brother and kj's brother's girlfriend. Can't remember the name of the place, but it was really good. Then we wanted to watch "Mao's last dancer" but there were no seats :( In the end, we walked like the whole of melbourne. we were looking for a bar without a bouncer where huei and I could get into haha. Finally found a bar called "trunk" which also served food, so we said we just wanted to eat and went in. I had dessert, ordered a pavlova, it was super sweet! Came home quite early(?) I guess. About 11.30.

Going to tulip farm tomorrow, then cell group :)

Coming back to Melbourne, going back to school felt okay. Aside from the really shitty results which I am getting back this week and the fact that I have to hand up a presentation plan by tomorrow, I find that I am enjoying myself, getting into the swing of things again. Really dreading that in just two more months I'm going to have to go back to Singapore for two whole years... I wish I could stay in Melbourne and continue studying, screw NS... This school term is going to be really short, over in just five weeks! wth right.

Well, my pretty long holiday in Singapore is coming to an end. Gotto go back to Melbourne to the horrors that await. I already know what to expect for my maths2 results. On a happier note, I can't wait to go back and meet my trinity friends, my cell group. Can't believe I missed so many outings in Melbourne while I was in Singapore :(

But meeting the friends in Singapore and spending time with my parents were fantastic. Don't know which I miss more, Singapore when I'm in Melbourne or Melbourne when I'm in Singapore.

I've literally stayed up all night the night before any essay is due trying to complete it. I have no idea what's wrong with me, I hope I don't screw up really badly.

So today was the first day I went to collect donations for the 40 hours of famine thing that my cell is doing. When you are the one that is collecting the donations, it really makes you wonder what is so hard about giving money to the less fortunate. On the other hand, sadly I can imagine myself thinking the total opposite if someone approaches me like that. I have never really felt how it feels when you are collecting donations for a good cause and people make jokes and all (I have probably never taken anything of this sort seriously till now), not that I find it insulting.

I think it has to do with just our culture, we are hardly ever taught to give a thought to people on other continents who are needy (not saying that there are no needy people in our country), we just think that they are too far away and it is none of our business. We are all the same species, we all have the same basic biology, we are all humans. It is really sad to think that there are people in the world who go to bed hungry every night and when it is not their fault that they are in such an unfortunate position. Stories i feel most impacted by are parents who have to choose which of their children would eat today and which ones would eat tomorrow. Imagine your parents telling you that you cannot eat today and that it is your turn tomorrow. That would suck right?

So my cell group will give up furniture this weekend. Unfortunately I can't join them as I would be in Sydney. I would probably do it when I come back next week and when I am totally not sick anymore.

So due to me being sick last week (and I'm still sick now), I've got an extension for my HOI essay till this Thursday. Unfortunately, I just started writing it and haven't really thought much about it. My nose is still killing me, I've used so much tissue, I can't even start to think seriously about doing work. I just feel like sleeping.

Instead of thinking about my essay, I'm thinking about skipping my first class tomorrow as my friend just told me it's a waste of time and it's super boring. Haha I just might skip it if I don't wake up in time.

Really should be working on my essay instead of blogging.

Really, I think the lack of sleep from doing my hoi essay totally caused me being sick now. I feel so horrible, physically I mean. I'm coughing like crazy, my nose is all red and my throat hurts like hell. It's so bad I had to get an extension for my hoi essay :) but I still went to school today, can't stand ah, I'm so dedicated haha.

So drama performance is going to be okay I hope... the rehearsals so far went okay in my opinion, don't know about the rest though. Can you believe we are forced to do drama over here in melbourne!

Feel so sick now, I think I'll just go to bed and hopefully forget to wake up for drama practice. If anybody from my drama group sees this, I'm just kidding :)

Next weekend, I'm going to sydney. And hopefully the weekend after next I can go snowboarding if mummy lets me. CAN'T WAIT

Just got back from cell, finally found the time to blog, at last!

I love snowboarding!! Just wish I could go every weekend. Only thing stopping me are essays.... I am so behind my work, marcus, faster start doing work. So last weekend, went to Mt. Hotham which was damn fun!! Snowboarding is just better than skiing, it's such a different feeling. Fell like crazy though, I think my ass had blue blacks. Hopefully going at least one more time this year. I bought all my ski gear! No need to rent anymore :) And I love my outfit, it's so easy to spot me.

So jiejie, kj, shuanne and I went up the mountain, sadly shuhuei couldn't go, as I mentioned previously, she was sick! Thank God she didn't have swine flu. It was super fun, there were alot of other trinity people up there too, counting me, there's like four groups I think. Met tsang, peiwen and peiqi on saturday, then they stayed over cos we had dinner till quite late, we played card games and all. For poker we used monopoly money haha. It's so good to have steamboat up the mountain, we freeze outside and then go inside and it's so warm. Went up for two days, but only snowboarded for one day, it was raining on sunday, so we decided to leave the mountain and go visit a winery. Wasn't such a bad idea I think, the snow would have been really hard that day haha. Now some pictures to liven up my blog:

Going Mt. Hotham tomorrow for snowboarding! Can't wait, I want to go now! Mt. Bulla last Saturday was a good warmup. I'm packing my stuff for the trip now, we are staying on the mountain for two nights! I have all my gear already, I even have a snowboard, so there's no need to rent snowboards anymore haha. My board doesn't match with the rest of my outfit though... my pants is blue while my board and bindings are green, ah well.

Unfortunately, shuhuei has fallen sick and she is suspected of having swine flu. Sucks man, I wish she hadn't fallen sick, now she's going to miss the trip.

And, I'm really falling behind in my work, this puts me in a really bad position as I had really bad results last term. I'm going to work hard! After the snowboarding trip. Haha, I'm such a procrastinator.

I hope I find the time to blog more often =D

My results for term 2 was released last week. All of my results basically sucked, I de-proved in every single subject. Worst of all was psychology, I think I'm going to drop it. I doubt i would be able to get into biomed if I continue like this... time to start studying now Marcus.

We're probably going skiing the coming Saturday, can't wait.

I've shopped all my life and still have nothing to wear.

Why is the price of designer clothing so high? Have you ever wondered how much something actually costs to make? I'm not saying that everything that has a brand name is overpriced. But for example, apparels which are of good quality would be expected to cost more and it follows that brand names sell good quality merchandise. But really, I think the price really makes a brand a brand. If brands like Salvatore Ferragamo, Marc Jacobs etc were not expensive where would they be? I doubt they would exist. Is it not true that expensive clothing from a well known designer would be viewed as superior to cheaper clothing? Knowing that the item is expensive and above the reach of others just makes the pull to buying such items so much stronger, is it all about exclusivity?

I had a sirloin steak on the bone,

The food was damn good!

I liked my steak alot,

I want to eat it again now! haha.

For HOI tutorial (HOI=History of Ideas)

went to the art gallery

at federation square

for a tour of the gallery.

After taking our attendence,

4 of us wanted to walk off

to go and eat breakfast,

but whenever I said,

"Eh, let's go"

We would stop

and then nobody would move...

SUCKS!

Anyway,

the tour was not very intesresting,

didn't really appreciate the art,

it was all australian art.

Something made it

interesting though,

the fire alarm rang halfway,

turns out they were having a fire drill,

so that cut short our tour.

BUT we had left our bags

INSIDE THE BUILDING....

We were pretty late

for our next class.

But that was also

because we went to eat

"lord of the fries".

Ding Zhi ordered the mini-burger,

turns out,

it was really mini,

1 bite and it was gone haha.

Unfortunately,

The rain suddenly started

So I haven't been updating my blog.

Just totally forgot

about this thing called blogging.

Well, I've joined a cell here!

The name of the cell is tabernacle.

At a church called Cross Culture

which is in the city.

But the current place I'm living at

which is not in the city,

prevents me from going

to their sunday service.

I usually go to the church

which is like 10 minutes

away from my house.

Hopefully I'll find the time

to wake up early and go,

Haha forgive me Tab's.

I'll really try to go

to crossculture as often as possible.

Today's cell was damn funny,

we drank lemon lime bitters.

It's a drink which little kids drink,

it's comprised of lemonade,

lime juice and bitter.

In case you don't know,

bitter contains like 44% alcohol.

There's only supposed to be

a little bit of bitter in the drink,

but I may have added a teeny bit more....

Everyone was laughing today :)

Now about school.

I have an essay due on

the coming friday

which I want to finish by sunday night,

because I have another essay

to start writing on monday!

Haha, it's almost exam period,

time to study!!

First exam is on 20 June,

a SATURDAY! Zzzz

So because I take

I have one more exam

than most people,

I wondered whether it was my own fault that it happened.

I faulted myself, thinking that I was too trusting.

Anything anyone does can cause someone to change, that stupid thing you all did...

I was all ready to start hating and to get my revenge.

It sounds really childish, but I did think like that.

Lots of things to say.

Holidays are ending!

School reopens the coming monday.

I'm going to have to rush alot

to catch up on work.

Got to do math and chem

and read my lit book.

I'm not in singapore.

Trinity is alot like uni,

we have to do alot

of independent learning,

there is hardly any submitted work,

so all the tuts is up to us

Mummy is leaving on saturday.

She's been here

So we didn't travel

I PASSED MY

DRIVING THEORY TEST!!!

Damn happy about that :)

It wasn't hard at all,

really was easy.

Almost couldn't take it though,

cos the stupid people

at the counter do not

know how to read

my passport.

I almost had to go to

the bank to change my first name

to my chinese name,

I was quite pissed

and was all ready

to start scolding them.

Luckily the woman serving me

went to ask her supervisor

and I was able to

take the test.

The other woman at the

counter next door was a

fat racist bitch!

She kept insisting that

my first name was shang,

so freaking pissed I tell you,

felt like telling her to STFU.

The people at vicroads

are also damn inflexible,

especially the fat racist bitch.

They refused to let

shuhuei and shuanne

take the test

cos they did not have a bank statement

for proof of address,

really dumb,

we were all quite pissed.

But besides that,

I'm damn happy that I passed!

Just watched

It's quite an okay show.

Huei and anne are like

crazy over the hugh dancy,

Haha okay I know I am really late,

should have blogged like many days ago,

but I am just too lazy.

Last weekend had moomba festival!

It was fun!

Went with shuanne, shuhuei,

my jiejie and KJ.

Shuhuei wanted a big pink pony soft toy

and of course,

me shuanne jiejie and KJ

being such nice people

tried to win it.

We were damn unlucky though,

only won 2 small soft toys...

sucks!

Wasted sooo much money.

The worse was some lucky draw,

we had to buy tickets

which were $5 each.

We bought a ticker for each of us

and we had 1/4 odds...

should have won....

But we didn't!!

Some other guy got it instead.

It is all shuhuei's fault!

Haha, kidding kidding,

it was fun.

Watched the fireworks at night,

they were really nice =D.

After moomba,

we went to hyatt hotel,

went to the bar there,

it's damn nice and classy.

Went home at about 1am.

School has been quite good,

got lots of work though,

so many tuts!

I swear my timetable is the

fullest in the whole of trinity,

I only have 2 free periods

while other people

have at least 4.

And I only know

one other person

who is taking four electives

like me!

I've been having so much fun!

Been so tired

I couldn't be bothered

to blog.

So had alot of activities,

they brought us on EXCURSIONS,

damn childish la wth haha.

The excursions were to

sovereign hill,

the gold mining place.

Had a 1 and a half hour

bus ride to and from sovereign hill.

Everyone slept I think.

Also had drama workshops

and BIG NOISE.

Damn fun!

Big noise is where

everyone plays a percussion instrument,

and there's dancing etc.

Big noise was on friday night,

so we went out after that.

Did alot of crazy stuff!!!

time left in Singapore.

But it's good that way,

I wanted to take in trinity

were Chem, Bio, Maths 1 and psych.

for my trinity year,

I might take Maths 2

Reason being it's impossible

to score full marks for sciences,

while on the other hand

I might be able

to get full marks

for maths.

If I want to get into Med,

I need as close to full marks

as possible.

But Bio would be interesting

for me I think...

Been so busy

the past few days.

Huei's parents are here,

so we've been going out everyday.

I wanted single digits,

This one I'm really disappointed,

A2 for AMATHS...

I expected it though,

A2 for chemistry, improvement.

My humanities improved

from a 6 and 8,

Really happy about that.

Today is Christmas day!

Last night went for my aunties memorial

at one of my cousin's house.

It was like a christmas party also.

It was so fun,

so many Neo's were there,

like almost everyone was present.

Marc got his new macbook pro haha

its quite nice

but too big for my liking.

Went church today,

christmas service!

Felt like santa claus,

got so many presents

for various people.

So church today was really full!

First time was our church filled up

with so many people haha.

Service was quite fun,

all the ministries

presented different items

like songs etc.

After service had lunch in church

and then went to watch movie!

Watched Australia,

it's the longest movie I've ever watched,

about THREE HOURS.

But it was quite

a nice movie overall

After the movie went town awhile

then I went to aunty doreen's

house for christmas dinner (mother's side one).

I got up at 6.30 today

due to jet-lag,

I bought a kate spade bag

LA and Vegas briefly.

Flight to LA,

through Tokya/Narita.

I hate united airlines.

Delayed 5+ hours in tokyo!

Can you believe it...

bloody waste of time.

So three nights in LA.

Disneyland was just okay,

but universal studios rock!

It was really interesting,

liked it alot.

Then off to vegas by coach zzz.

Took bout 4 hours.

Stayed in Luxor hotel,

wasn't too bad,

quite good actually.

Only had about

one full day in vegas,

so we just walked around

in the hotels along the strip.

The weather had been

quite nice so far,

LA was warmer than vegas,

could go out with just

one jacket on.

After two nights in vegas,

flew to dina's place at new haven!

The damn plane got delayed

AGAIN!

About a 4 hour delay....

So new haven is much colder.

Was actually supposed to snow

while I am here.

Maybe it'll snow the day after.

Arrived at new haven past 11.

Next morning,

we were supposed to go on a tour,

but the weather sucked,

cos I know it's gonna

be tiring.

Had alot of trouble

having to pick out 60 photos

for each album out of the

TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN

photos we took.

So day 1 in Japan.

We landed and went outside

to wait for our bus.

Everyone was so excited

about the vending machines,

got so many things haha.

So we boarded the bus,

about a 1 hour bus ride

to Nishinomiya.

Aunty Norizah and Uncle Bruno picked us up

from the bus bay.

Their cars are so nice!

Both sporty cars =D

So we went to their house to

drop the luggage.

Then we went to an Udon shop

near their house for lunch.

I had tempura Udon!

After lunch we went sightseeing.

Walked quite alot.

Went to the Sake museum,

saw how they made sake last time.

And as a gift we each

got a bottle of sake.

(We told the person everyone was a university student except for Mathew, so I got my bottle too ;D)

Then we went to the sake shop,

so everyone bought sake.

We started walking back home.

Walked through a big temple/shrine

as a shortcut.

Just so happened that it was a day

where the 3, 5 and 7 year old kids

went to the temple to get blessings.

So they were all dressed up,

all so cute,

they were kimono's

and there were stalls like a funfair

in the grounds.

For dinner we went to a

chicken yakitori place.

Was damn good!

Ate alot,

and drank.

The sake was damn strong,

felt lightheaded as we were

walking back after dinner.

The 2nd day.

It was raining,

hate the rain,

made things cold and wet...

We went to kyoto.

Just walked around,

there were small shops,

quite nice haha.

Went to some small restaurent

for lunch,

it was in an alley.

The food pretty good.

Then we started walking again,

up some hill,

supposedly to see a big temple.

Stopped somewhere halfway up

to have dessert.

It was a mochi shop.

It started raining so heavily

that we didn't want to continue.

Instead we left the area

and went to some big shopping centre

to shop.

Unfortunately,

most of the shops sold

foreign and expensive brands...

Nobody bought anything lol.

For dinner we went to

a supermarket!!

Haha we bought our dinner

at the supermarket,

so cool,

never done that before.

Bought their already

cooked food,

like the pork cutlet and stuff.

Their potato krokae is damn good.

We were off to kinosaki

on our third day.

Packed our bags for 2 nights,

we were going to the hot springs =D

2 hour + train ride to kinosaki,

played games on my phone

and listened to music.

Their trains have toilets,

unlike our MRT.

The place was really nice,

our rooms had no beds!

It's more like just one room.

In the daytime there would be

a table in the middle,

and when we went for dinner,

the cleaners would come in

and push the table to one side

and unroll the mattress.

We had to change into our yukatas,

it's like a bath robe haha.

We would be wearing those

for as long as we stayed there.

No need for our normal clothes.

Didn't really know what

to expect about the

japanese baths.

Have to go naked one leh!

You only have one small towel

which you use to clean yourself.

Luckily guys are not so shy,

and hey,

everyone's doing it,

it's normal.

Never felt so clean in my life,

you can go to the baths

as many times as you like.

So we go as often as we can.

You just can't spend too long

in the water.

You'll get cooked.

Our dinner was huge!

It came as a package when we booked.

The dinner for our first night

revolved around CRAB.

I swear I've eaten enough

crab to last me a year.

We EACH had

THREE big crabs at least.

Love the pictures we took.

It shows our position

as the dinner progressed.

At the start,

everyone sit so nicely,

legs crossed and the

outer coat was still on.

As we continued,

nobody cared anymore,

legs stretched out

and we took off the outer layer haha.

The sake made everyone

feel hot I think.

We ate for quite

a long time.

The service and decoration

for our dinner was fantastic.

The menu was handwritten!

For each of us,

that means 10 menus.

When the person serving us

was explaining the menu,

she said a bad thing HAHA.

Kani means crab,

and nabei means pot.

So kaninabei naturally means

crab in a pot!!

We laughed so much over this.

Then we went out after dinner.

Went to walk in the town,

but it was RAINING!

We each took an umbrella

and took the hotel bus to the town.

It was quite fun to walk

in the slipper,

it's like on a platform.

So we got off the bus,

and started walking.

Most of the shops

were closed.

Then it started raining

even heavier!

It was getting cold,

sooo...

When the bus turned around,

we flagged it down again! Haha.

8 minutes after we got off,

we were on our way back =D

What a joke lol.

Went back,

took a bath again and slept.

FOURTH DAY! (I'm getting bored typing...)

Went to see the caves and cranes,

go to facebook and see them.

Best part was LUNCH!

Went to the soba town.

They serve soba on small plates.

And the waitress brought

all the small plates to us

on 2 big trays.

Each person was to have

5 plates.

Damn shiok!

50 plates altogether,

I think we could have

managed 50 more ;D

We had a choice of

cracking a raw egg

into the sauce.

It really changes the taste.

Then we went and walked

around in that town.

Ate ice cream!

Had soba ice cream,

the taste was quite good.

Then we went to

some place up a mountain

where you could see a tombolo.

Did alot of funny stuff,

day 4 =D

Went back to the hotel

at about 5+.

Went around kinosaki

and visited the different baths.

We just walked around in our yukatas!

So cool la,

walking around in a bath robe.

(it's the norm)

Our dinner was another

big affair.

No crab today,

had enough of it.

Had all kinds of things,

could hardly finish everything.

The beef was so good!

It melts in your mouth.

They served some salad in a persimmon.

I don't think we were supposed to

eat the persimmon itself

as it was sort of the bowl.

But we ate it!

It was so sweet and juicy,

I bet the waitress got a shock haha.

Hey at least we didn't waste anything ;D

Fifth day onwards.

Not much happened,

we departed from kinosaki

back to aunty norizah's house.

Just went around the neighbourhood

and took the train to nearby places

to go shopping.

Nothing much to say about it haha.

So this the end of

my japan post.

I won't be going

for my visa to go melbourne

I'll be going melbourne in Jan!!

Then I'll come back

for chinese new year,

and then flying back to melbourne

again on 8 Feb.

Going in Jan to accompany shuhuei,

as my sister is going america

for a conference

during January.

Going to be sooo busy!

I've counted and I know

I do not have much time

left in Singapore,

I'm going to melbourne

CONFIRMED, even if I get 6 points.

My mum just paid about half of

my school fees yesterday,

and it is non-refundable,

$10 000 (approximate).

Haha, looking forward

Grad Night

Graduation Night was 2 nights ago,

realised I haven't posted

anything about it.

So... Orchard Hotel,

MY SCHOOL IS BLOODY CHEAPSKATE.

what the heck.

We should be at like

shangri-la or something.

Well the food wasn't great,

service also wasn't great,

but seeing everyone again,

haha is damn good.
